More about our speaker:

Most recently, Kimberly Marshall served as Senior Program Officer for Tech Investments in Postsecondary Success at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Prior to joining the Foundation, Kimberly spearheaded strategic growth initiatives across product, operations and policy at Uber, contributing to their growth from 19 markets to over 400 markets in 70 countries. Her investing background includes two venture capital funds, growth strategy advisory work for seven ventures across three industries, private equity at Macquarie Capital, and investment banking at Morgan Stanley.

Kimberly earned undergraduate degrees in Economics and French from Harvard University and an MBA with a concentration in Entrepreneurship and Finance from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Maria Derchi Russo has spent the last 3+ years focused on growing South Florida’s tech and startup community as Executive Director of Refresh Miami. In addition to her work at Refresh Miami, Maria serves as Miami Campus Director of TheVentureCity and is the founder of Women in Miami Tech (WIMT), a group dedicated to supporting and advancing women in technology roles. Previously she served as Assistant Director of The Launch Pad at University of Miami and ran marketing programs for startups including Travelzoo and ParkJockey.
