NYC Blockchain Workshop – Security Token

Security token is getting hot recently. It is considered as “New IPO”. Some real estate project in NYC even started issuing security token. Want to know what is the Security Token? Are you interested in business opportunity behind this technology? This panel will explain you the security token and it’s business logic behind, and how this distributed technology creates the golden opportunties in the near future. Panelist Eric Bai – Bitmart Eric Bai has been in the legal industry since 2012 when he was an associate a leading law firm in Shanghai, China, where he gained diverse practice experience including corporate, compliance, and dispute resolution. He also has the experience in working at a leading law firm in the U.S. He has been involved in the cryptocurrency and blockchain legal practice since August 2017, and he is a co-founder and co-chair of Meeting of the Tangents: The Business, Regulation, and Technology of Blockchain at Harvard Business School. He is an active advocator for social entrepreneurship and impact investment by frequently providing Pro Bono services to startups aiming to promote the welfare of people in and from Asia and Africa. He also serves the community as a Weinfeld fellow at New York University(“NYU”)School of Law, a mentor at Asian-Pacific American Law Students Association of NYU School of Law, and the co-founder of Young Alumni Committee of East China University of Political Science and Law North America Alumni Association. He is admitted in China and New York State. He received his LL.M from NYU School of Law, and his LL.B (equivalent of J.D.) from East China University of Political Science and Law. Slava Rubin Slava Rubin is Co-founder of humbition, an early-stage operators fund built by founders, for founders. Slava also founded Indiegogo, a company dedicated to empowering people from all over the world to make their ideas a reality. As CEO for over 8 years from launch in 2008, Slava grew Indiegogo from an idea to over 500,000 campaigns and more than $1B distributed around the world. He led Indiegogo through its support of the JOBS ACT and entering into the Equity Crowdfunding and Security Token markets. Prior to Indiegogo, Slava was a strategy consultant working on behalf of clients such as MasterCard and FedEx for over a decade. He is also the founder of “Music Against Myeloma,” an annual charity event that raises funds and awareness for cancer research in partnership with the International Myeloma Foundation. Slava is a graduate of The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He is also currently a member of the board for Indiegogo. Lee A. Schneider Lee A. Schneider is global General Counsel at Block.One, the world’s largest blockchain developer and author of the EOSIO software. Schneider is responsible for all of the company’s legal affairs and will be involved in its proactive regulatory and compliance initiatives.He joined Block.One after leading the blockchain practices at two major international firms, most recently McDermott Will & Emery. While at McDermott, Lee led both the Fintech and broker dealer practices.Lee has been recognized as one of the leading voices in blockchain related regulation and compliance, and has played a role in structuring several of the largest and most successful blockchain-related projects.Schneider co-hosts Appetite for Disruption, a bi-weekly FinTech podcast with former SEC Commissioner Troy Paredes, and has contributed to the global-leading guidance, “A Securities Law Framework for Blockchain Tokens” developed by Coinbase.Mr. Schneider holds a Juris Doctor degree from American University’s Washington College of Law and a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the University of Michigan.
