Technology and Innovation in Insurance

Insurance has been one of the hottest areas of innovation in Fintech over the past decade.  We are seeing new distribution models, new product structures – but also technology and analytics used to make traditional products and traditional distribution channels more effective.  

Thousands of Insurtech startups are operating around the world. We will sit down with executives from three successful Insurtech players – and talk about their vision, drivers of innovation, and challenges that keep them up at night.

Panel:

Meital Kushnir is VP of Technology Product Management at At-Bay, leading technical products and platforms strategy in addition to driving user research, product discovery, design, and planning. Meital manages a team of Product Managers and Product Designers and has contributed to the launch of numerous insurance products and automation initiatives. Her experience encompasses more than 18 years in various tech industries, including cyber, computer vision, and machine learning. She has a BSc EE and an MBA, both cum laude, from Tel Aviv University.

Richard Yeung is the VP of Insurance at NEXT Insurance where he leads the Insurance Product strategy for the company. He has a background in Data Science and managed teams at both TrueAccord and Facebook. Richard has a BA in Economics from the University of Chicago.

Roy Mill is the CEO and Co-Founder of Joshu, a platform for insurers to design, develop, and distribute insurance products. Before Joshu, Roy was VP of Product Management for At-Bay, where he and his co-founder Shimi built the tech stack that was key to the insurtech’s phenomenal growth. Prior to that Roy was a Director of Product for Ancestry. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Stanford University and a B.A. in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics from the Hebrew University.

Sofya Pogreb – COO at Bill

Sofya Pogreb is the COO at BILL and Board member at Next Insurance. She brings 20 years of Financial Services experience: advised Fortune 500 clients at McKinsey and Company, then headed Risk Management for the Americas region at PayPal. Most recently, was the Chief Operating Officer at TrueAccord and at Next Insurance.  Holds B.S. and M.Eng Degrees in Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
